I've finally succumbed to social pressure, and joined ranks in this curious historical period when everyone is talking -- not to the person next to them, but to someone else on a cell phone.

I don't even talk on the phone much. What I'm really doing is paying $40/month so I don't have to hunt for pay phones, and hunt for change, and get pissed off when the pay phone doesn't work, or before I can get five dimes in the slot says "If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and insert fifty cents..." I'm trying! I'm trying!

Man, those phone companies are smart.
