Their problem is ours...

It's about time for the law enforcement agencies of various cities to collaborate on some problems they have in common:
---------------
Tenderloin district continues to stay very busy. We have run several
operations this week to address several of our neighbors' concerns. On
Tuesday at around 11 AM Gang Task Force (GTF) was buying drugs at the
Hallidie Plaza from four young adult citizens from Oakland who decided
to rob our undercover officer by beating him and taking his money. The
visitors from Oakland were surrounded and out numbered by Members of the
GTF who quickly arrested the four for selling drugs and for robbery.
This might be becoming a habit with our visitors from Oakland. On
Thursday, at around lunch time, Narcotics was running a buy bust program
and right after the undercover officer purchased his crack cocaine even
before he could give the arrest signal these two Oakland drug dealers
grabbed an elderly female walking by, knocked her down and began to
punch and rob her. They too quickly found themselves under arrest not
only by the arrest teams who rushed in but also the undercover officer
who felt compelled to jump in to save the victim.

How MUNI sucks

Due to no driver showing up, MUNI took an hour and 15 minutes to get me home - that's 4 miles, and I could have walked faster.

Donor disconnect

Lots of people die and donate organs over the holidays. Lots of eating, drinking, and driving, resulting in various forms of life cessation.

On the other hand, lots of people who normally would, DON'T donate blood over the holidays. They're on vacation. This means that when an organ is available for transplant, there's an extreme risk that there won't be critical blood available to perform the transplant.

If you're able, donate blood in the holiday season, and try to keep your organs intact !

PETA bait

Yowza... walking in Golden Gate park, I saw a young couple (early 20's). She was wearing a raccoon hat and he was wearing a couple of fox skins draped over his shoulders. Wow. Seems like a courageous thing in this town, where PETA freaks would eat you for breakfast ! ...but then, it takes a different breed to actually be radical in this town !
